About Fort Myers Wargamer Meetup
Fort Myers Wargamers are a group of like-minded individuals who love the art of the wargame. Games like Risk, Axis and Allies, and even Chess are considered the entry point to this genre. However, wargames have really evolved over the years. Game companies like GMT, Columbia, and MMP are producing wonderful games that do not require a Phd or a life-time commitment to enjoy. Wargames like Twilight Struggle, Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage, Rommel in the Desert, and A Victory Lost, are just a few of the great games being produced today that can be enjoyed in a single gaming session, and provide a great gaming experience.
Speaking for myself, I could not find anyone who plays these games living in Southwest Florida. I hope this meetup will serve as a place for us grizzled grognards to "meet up", and hopefully, get some games going!
